Hi everyone,
CCCC is approaching quickly, and I would like to get our Top IP
Events/Developments of 2007 up well before the conference to drum up
attendance of the Caucus. I can copyedit the collection quickly, but
getting the files up on NCTE's web space may take a fair amount of
time; that process is not predictable for me. I ask, then, that you
send me your articles (remember, just 1000 words will be fine) by
March 17, three weeks from now.
I have heard recently from Carlos, Martine, and Traci regarding the
status of their articles, but I'd like to know how the rest of you are
doing. If you know you won't be able to send your article, please let
me know.
The table of contents is below:
1. "Review of Renee Hobbs, Peter Jaszi & Pat Aufderheide's report 'The
Cost of Copyright Confusion for Media Literacy.'" Martine Courant
Rife, Michigan State University/Lansing Community College
2. "The One Laptop Per Child XO laptops." Kim Gainer, Radford University
3. "The NIH Open Access Mandate." Clancy Ratliff, University of
Louisiana at Lafayette
4. "McLean High School Students File Suit Against Turnitin.com." Traci
A. Pipkins, James Madison University
5. "Review of Pat Aufderheide and Peter Jaszi's Report 'Recut,
Reframe, Recycle.'" Laurie Cubbison, Radford University
6. "Bosch v. Ball-Kell." Jeff Galin, Florida Atlantic University
7. "The Viacom/Google-YouTube case." Carlos Salinas, University of
Texas at El Paso
Thanks,
Clancy
